Free Staters Speak to the Keene NH City Council

Patrick and Sam do a great job of explaining to the Keene, NH city council the error of their ways in this six-minute YouTube video. It took a lot of courage for them to stand up and speak their mind in front of people who will obviously take great offense and most likely even misunderstand them.

Liberty is the Primary Prerequisite

I’m moving my family to New Hampshire in a few months so we can have a better life. My son is my particular motivation, as I want the best possible life for him. Liberty is the primary prerequisite for a person to reach their maximum potential and since New Hampshire is not only the freest state in the union but also home to the Free State Project, that’s where we’re heading.

Manchester? or Keene?

I’m leaning towards making our home in the Manchester area, but it’s the courage and activism of people like Sam and Patrick that continue to spark my interest in choosing Keene instead. One thing I like about Manchester is that I’m told there are lots of homeschooling groups and activities there, whereas there is apparently very little in Keene.

A Public Speaking Club

Liberty activism requires excellent communication skills because so many people are just so far gone into the statist mindset that liberty-lovers become incomprehensible to them. They just can’t understand us. So I’d like to start a public speaking club (in addition to joining Toastmasters) where Free Staters can come, speak and we can all critique each other. I’m also going to see if I can work up the courage to soapbox – stand on a box in a park or on a street corner and have a conversation with the public. If nothing else, it’s gonna be fun!

I think Keene will be the first working example of freedom. I think you’d be able to further liberty best in Keene—that your skills would be put to the best use here. I think moving to the liberty media capitol of the world and helping us becoming the model city of voluntary interactions may ultimately serve your son better than moving to a place where it will be easier to find home-schooling meet-ups and activities.
